6, Plateau Altmünster
With 45 gins and 25 wines by the glass, you are spoiled for choice and watching the bartenders work their magic through innovating cocktails is an event in itself. The restaurant beckons a luxe living room chic feel with plush velvet but doesn’t take itself too seriously and harks to a carefree time gone by with a funky vintage television in the corner.
Maybe it was the Old English gin talking, (it was awarded the best gin in the world in 2014), but their claim to have the best cocktail in the city is bang on.
An absolute must-eat dish is the Ceviche. It is impeccably made with pomegranate and red onion, passionate, coriander, lime and the secret (oops, no longer) ingredient of vanilla. They use a fantastic butcher in Belgium which provides meat for the most gorgeous Bikini sandwich outside of Barcelona. No, we aren’t talking about the swimsuit and this spanish delicacy with truffles will melt in your mouth. In fact, we’d consider giving up bikini season all together if it meant we could eat these babies on a daily basis. You know just where to get us, Um Plateau!
