GayMat 2016 starts on 2 July and this year’s slogan is: ‘On The Move’. The official colour is: Green. Romain Mancinelli Mirti is here to help you get your move on.
Why ‘On The Move’?
We, ‘Rosa Lëtzebuerg’, the GayMat Team, ‘…och fir eis’, CIGALE and all the bigger and smaller LGBTIQ groups in Luxembourg and around the world fought for years and years to get what we have today; the freedom to be gay, the freedom to love whom we want, the freedom to marry and to adopt children. We don’t stand still. The world is always On The Move. And the people too! Some to have a better financial future and others because of wars and injustice.
On The Move – stands for them, the people hoping for better lives, free to love whoever they feel like. Asylum and protection seekers who had to flee from their countries because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Our body too is On The Move. Some feel good in their body, some love it the way it is, some feel fine being straight or gay but for some it is not that easy. They feel On The Move from themselves! They feel in the wrong body.
On The Move – stands for them, the trans and intersex people hoping for better lives, free to love themselves and their bodies. Free from bureaucratic questions of gender.
Rosa Lëtzebuerg is also On The Move – we are celebrating 20 years! Having moved out of a small dark cellar-office outside the city into a huge bright office space with private rooms for the CIGALE and youth groups right next to the Place D’Armes, a better environment to help young and old.
On The Move – stands for us, our association and all the satellites of the Rosa-Family. Always fighting for a just and equal future for everyone no matter the sexual orientation, gender, religion or origin.
Gays and transgender don’t seek for privileges, we only want basic human rights. Not having to hide ourselves and our love. Because only when everyone can show their love in public (holding hands and kissing) can the next generation be more tolerant and humane.
So… Let’s get On The Move and party!
