No longer just for Anglophones, brunch is slowly creeping onto the continent. While it may be a while before eggs feature on every menu in Luxembourg, there are a few restaurants making Sunday an exciting day for dining out.
Every Sunday this hip Bonnevoie bar turns into a packed destination restaurant. Committed to serving mostly bio products, their normal weekday menu is replaced with 5 brunch options including smoked salmon, full English, sweet and vegetarian. The food is sound and they are certainly the most creative of the group. Be prepared to wait for your food as the kitchen sometimes finds it hard to keep up. Also book ahead. The restaurant is small and seats are in demand.

If you find yourself wanting brunch paired with an event then head to the Abbey. Their Jazz Brunch feels like an event and the perfect place to take out of town guests. The food is served buffet style, and features more Luxembourgish fare than anything else, but they have some brunch staples and lots of different meats to choose from. The music is different every week and when the sun is out they move everyone on to the courtyard.
- Good for: Jazz enthusiasts and brunch enthusiasts

Is there such a thing as rustic-chic? If there is, La Table fulfils the description with its countrified decor and refined menu. Beautiful baguettes and croissants, real country butter and jam vie with pancakes, organic muesli and freshly squeezed orange juice for your meal. There’s a restaurant at both the gare and city centre, but we recommend the latter for outdoor dining.
- Good for: Sunny Sundays on the terrace.

Not only is the space a breath of fresh air for the Luxembourgish dining scene, the food is delicious. Gorgeous pastries, breads and sandwiches grace the front of the shop while the back serves fabulous food any time of day. There are three brunch options: French, American and Healthy plus an upstairs brunch buffet on Sunday. I don’t want to give too much away but pancakes and peanut butter feature on the menu. I may never leave.

Ah, Ready. One of our favourite coffee shops, with organic, allergen-free, healthy food, fabulous coffee and bohemian look. The brunch is only on on the 1st Sunday of every month, but is so great we had to list it (N.B. it sells out quickly when it comes online!). Their menu sometimes seems designed as a hangover cure, from the healthy (chia pudding, banana bread) to the wake-up call (siracha and sweet potato wraps, apple, carrot and ginger juice). And free water and wifi. Perfect after a large Saturday night.
- Good for: the morning after the night before
When: Tues-Fri 07:00-18:00; Sat 09:00-16:00; Brunch on 1st Sunday – book here for either the 10:30 – 13:00 or 13:00 – 15:00 slot
