As an early present to celebrate the holidays and show how much we love our readers, we are teaming up with our partners at the Philharmonie to offer the first 25 people two tickets each to a concert on this Friday, the 24th of November at 7pm with the renowned pianist Krystian Zimerman and conducted by Gustavo Gimeno.
You will be taken on a Russian- American Adventure by the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra. Bernstein, himself, said he was inspired by the question of what it means to be happy during miserable times and finding the core of faith- something he said he strove to address in everything he ever composed.
Moscow – Tel Aviv – New York
Travelling from the banks of the Hudson with Bernstein’s Symphony No. 2 ‘The Age of Anxiety,’ composed between New York and Tel Aviv, on the shores of the Caucasus where Prokofiev conceived his Symphony No. 5. This concert will launch the festivities held this season to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Bernstein’s birth and will be an opportunity to discover a little known side of a composer known for his musical West Side Story. This adventure will continue with the Claire Parsons Quartet in the Foyer after the concert.
