City Limits – in the heart of the city

City Centre

There is a small playground in the City Centre which is a perfect intermission from a fast paced day in the city. The playground may be small, but mighty as people of all ages seem to gravitate towards the top of the climbing pole. Watch your little ones run around while you get off of your feet for a moment!

• Where: Rue Beaumont, Luxembourg

Pirate Ship Park

Ahoy! Who doesn’t love a pirate ship? This playground seems to be a fan favorite among the kids of Luxembourg. Pirate Ship Park has a shipwreck in the center of the playground which is perfect for young explorers! They can climb on it, hide in it, ring the bell, and do so much more with their imagination.

With wooden hippos, dolphins, and tortoises to climb on, this park makes a splash with its water theme. On a hot summer day, take your kid to cool off at one of the water sprinklers! Kids can play with the sprinkler using locks to change the waterflow, so it is sure to keep them entertained.

For older visitors, the 6 meter climbing wall is the perfect challenge. Once you celebrate at the top, there is a thrilling slide back down to earth. Don’t forget to bring your scooters and bikes to zoom around the park paths. From May to October, there is a Pavillion that serves drinks and ice cream.

Do your kids love playing knights, princesses, or princes? They will LOVE this castle themed playground in Belair. This is a super impressive playground with a large castle at the center complete with passageways, bridges, ropes, ladders and slides (warning: it’s a tight squeeze for adults to fit through the castle so rescuing stuck little ones can be … challenging!). If your child loves the themed parks similar to Castle Park and Farm Park, wait until they see Airport Park. Mondorf Le Bain

There are 2 playgrounds in Mondorf Le Bain that we love to visit.

The first playground is in front of the Chalet am Brill Restaurant  where the park includes seesaws, swings, slides and plenty of climbing. It is a great playground for little ones with an excellent location for parking, restrooms, nibbles, or even an ice cream. During the warmer months the restaurant has a chill outdoor dining area to look after your energetic child while enjoying a bite. You can also ride around on your bike or scooter here!

• Where: Avenue Marie-Adelaide, Mondorf-les-Bains

The other playground is around the corner from the first, on the lovely grounds of Mondorf le Bain spa. This small playground includes a tire, swings, and a small sandpit. This park may not be extraordinary as it is quite small, but the location at the botanical gardens is quaint and beautiful. There is definitely space for a picnic in the park and circling around on bikes and scooters. Don’t miss the mini maze and mini bridges over older trees. In addition, there are two cafes near the park, Maus Katti Bistro and La Roseraie, which are great for filling up on drinks and ice cream.

Where: Park in the (free) Mondorf Domain Thermal spa car park and walk through the grounds heading towards the Aviation Museum

We have all heard of the tourist trail and visited the Echternach town centre, but do not neglect the stunning lake that surrounds the outside of Echternach. Walk around the lake for about 400 meters to stumble upon the playground with equipment sure to keep your little one entertained. Soak in the sun or lay a picnic in the shade of the forest with a good book while your kids run free. This playground has a toilet so there is no need to squat in the woods. Keep in mind that the Youth Hostel has reasonable meals, ice creams, and drinks if you need an intermission during all the play! And don’t forget the trampoline park for kids at the hostel during the summer (you do have to pay).
