City Savvy gets the low-down on why January is the month for hot wheels at low prices.
There’s a time for everything in life and in Luxembourg. Like when to eat a marzipan pig (January); when to eat gromperekichelcher (any time you can get your mitts on those babies) and when to buy a car. This year the 52nd annual Auto-festival will take place from 23rd January to 1st February and your bank will be offering you tempting loans on that new motor you really need. There’s no physical exhibition as such; it’s just that, during this period car dealers will have discounts and special promotions for people looking to purchase a new vehicle and if you’re in the market for a new or used car, you’d be mad to miss out.
Even if you don’t want to get a new car, it’s a great place to check out what’s new in the car world. Most of the 129 participating car dealerships will be showcasing innovation in technology (hybrids and electrics are the ones to watch) and new models – let the expert staff guide you. If you’ve a young family, don’t worry – most dealers in Luxembourg have a kids’ corner, but at this time, there can even be full-on shows for kids with balloons and magicians. At the very least, it’s a good opportunity to see whether your dream car is surprisingly affordable and let the guide give you a test drive.
Check out the “Festival terms” on the website on the car of your choice and take your old wheels down to the dealership to get something new.
