This week, we’re following Luxembourgish Laurent on a circular ramble in Flaxweiler commune, starting at the tiny village of Gostingen.
In the south-east of Luxembourg lies Gostingen, where you can enjoy the spectacular views that the Moselle has to offer. Your walk will encompass vineyards and orchards, beech forests and Luxembourgish villages.
Gostingen (13,42 km)
A spring walk in the splendid vicinity of Gostingen (Luxembourgish Gouschteng). Start in front of the “Centre culturel” behind the church. Leave the village after 1,25 km on a smooth climb to fertile rural land. On the way, enjoy the spectacular views over the remote Moselle valley and the heights of the Saargau, the ridge between the rivers Saar and Moselle in Germany.
Cross rich pastures and fields, terraced vineyards and orchards. Past the village of Beyren, the route leads through a beech forest over 6 km, with a short stop at the hamlet of Kapenaker. Keep going and you’re back in Gostingen.
