This week, we’re following Luxembourgish Laurent on a fairy-tale ramble through Beaufort.
Home to an old castle protected by a moat, in the canton of Echternach, lies Beaufort. This scenic walk is an easy stroll through forest and sandstone rock. Dreamy in the rain, spectacular in the sunshine and wonderful with children (or without).
Beaufort (5,72 km)
Short and easy walk in the Mullerthal, near Beaufort (Luxembourgish Beefort). Start at the parking on the side of the road between Beaufort and Grundhof. Cross the road and dive into a fairy-tale forest of beeches and pines. Walk alongside the sandstone rocks and take a closer look at the fascinating weathering traces. Stroll through the enchanting valley of the Halerbaach stream.
Leave the forest for a short ramble over rural land with a view over Beaufort. Then, head back into the woods to return to the starting point.
