Our very own Tune Alert music journalist and blogger, Bartek Brzezinski, has won an award at BPM Live’s B-side project awards, held in the Metropolis Studios in London last month.

The Awards promote new artists and merge music genres, allowing entrants to “remix” original tracks into new compositions.

The prize, called Seaboard RISE – “The future of keyboard”, was for innovation and was awarded to Bartek (musical name: bARTek) for his remix of Benedict Harris-Hayes’ track “Finding a Voice”.

“I am stunned and surprised to have won an accolade at this prestigious music production event. I have been trying my luck for several years now but I didn’t expect to be recognised for it at this very competition. This is definitely a dream come true,” said Bartek.

Sponsored by Prism Sound, the top ten entries including bARTek’s track will be released as a compilation album on the B-side recording label, distributed by Republic of Music and available to download from iTunes from February 2017.

More than 400 artists entered the competition from 40 different countries, and the judging panel included Grammy Award winners La Roux, drum ‘n’ bass legend Roni Size, and DJ Krystal Roxx.

“My passion for mixing music and making beats is growing daily. It started as a teenager’s dream, but now I find I am using all my spare time to create my own music,” said Bartek.

Thankfully, Bartek still has time to review music tracks, interview rising pop stars, and put together his monthly music choices for City Savvy Luxembourg readers.
